How to Install I9000 Value Pack

How to Install Android 2.3.6 Gingerbread Value Pack on Samsung Galaxy S GT-I9000

A leaked Android 2.3.6 Gingerbread Value Pack firmware from Samsung lets you enjoy neat features, such as Face Unlock of the Galaxy Nexus, and improves the mobile phone’s performance.

This leaked Value Pack firmware build XXJVU update includes the following:
  • Face Unlock from Galaxy Nexus
  • Galaxy Note Lockscreen
  • Galaxy S2 Photo Editor
  • Improved Camera App
  • Ability to take picture while taking videos
  • Fast auto-rotation response
  • New Lockscreen sounds
  • Enhanced stock browser
  • Smoother and faster Gallery 3D
  • Higher FPS rate in 3D
  • Minor changes in the UI

Requirements

The leaked ROM for the Android 2.3.6 Gingerbread Value Pack build XXJVU hasn’t been thoroughly tested, so it may not be suitable for use daily. If you want to check out what the ROM has in store for you, you can try flashing it to your Galaxy S. But, take note of the following requirements and important reminders:
  • Download Odin3 v1.83 
  • Download leaked Android 2.3.6 Gingerbread Value Pack
  • Create a backup of your phone data, settings, and important files.
  • Disable/Kill Samsung KIES process from task manager. These could interfere during the installation process.
  • Make sure your phone has at least 60% power.
  • Update your device at your own risk. We are not liable for any damage arising from your use of this guide.

How to install

If you’re all set and ready to go, you may install Android 2.3.6 Gingerbread Value Pack into your Samsung Galaxy S by following these steps:

1. Extract the Value Pack ZIP update files to your desktop. The file should include the following files:
  • CODE_I9000XXJVU_CL851880_REV03_user_low_ship.tar.md5
  • MODEM_I9000XXJVU_REV_00_CL1092175.tar.md5
  • GT-I9000-CSC-MULTI-OXAJVU.tar.md5.
2. Launch Odin3 v1.83 on your desktop.
3. Turn off your Galaxy S and reboot it into download mode (Volume Down+Home+Power button)
4. Connect your phone to your PC via USB cable.
5. Once connected, wait for Odin’s ID:COM box to turn yellow, signaling that the device has been detected.
6. Manually add the files in their respective places in Odin3:
  • PDA: CODE_I9000XXJVU_CL851880_REV03_user_low_ship.tar.md5
  • PHONE: MODEM_I9000XXJVU_REV_00_CL1092175.tar.md5
  • CSC: GT-I9000-CSC-MULTI-OXAJVU.tar.md5
Once all are set, click the Start button in Odin3 to install Android 2.3.6 Gingerbread Value Package on your mobile phone.

How's XWJVU Battery Life? Baseband XXJVT. I will make screen capture of the battery usage from time to time and update here...

Firmware version. This is stock. No changes made. No new apps installed.

Day 1. 11 Nov 2011

13 Nov 2011. Battery remaining 66%

14 Nov 2011.Battery remaining 60%

15 Nov 2011. Battery remaining 51%

16 Nov 2011. Battery remaining 44%

17 Nov 2011. Battery remaining 30%
No charging...minor awake and screen ON. SIM card in...phone signal almost continuous GREEN.

The phone awake and consume WiFi.. it's the background services that connect to the internet and doing some update.

18 Nov 2011. Battery remaining 22%

WOW! It's been more than 6 days ..........android really good in stand-by...
7 days........NO charging................
Battery remaining 11%...dying....


Gone. The phone going blank. not manage to get screen shot of the last battery juice after 7 days...

This is stand by mode test. Sometime I ON it to view the battery usage and status, make screen capture and upload to picasaweb.

Galaxy Note coming 11-13 Nov Pavillion

Hi all. The awaiting Galaxy Note is coming to Malaysia and on show from 11-13 Nov at Pavillion. Forget about AP set (unless they are giving you 500-1K discount..hehehe). Get the original set from Samsung and peace in mind for warranty and services.

How to install Semaphore JVS 1.7.5

What's new in Semaphore JVS 1.7.5?

- bundled HM.Carbide's Semaphore Script Manager v0.31 application (thanks to HM.Carbide)
- slightly increased voltage at 1.2GHz (1325mV) for better stability on some phones.
- deleting boot sounds procedure creates backup on /data/local


We have Overclocking features available. Reboot not required.

How to install Semaphore JVS 1.7.5?

1. Download semaphore JVS 1.7.5 and copy into your SD Card

2. Download SGS Kernel Flasher
3. Run SGS Kernel Flasher and flash new semaphore

4. DONE

At the end you should have this.

Note: This is with the assumption that you had installed Semaphore 1.7.0 or you had root your JVS
