Galaxy Note Battery. Phone Flickering and Switch Off

Sometime your phone flickering and suddenly switch off? Your phone show 20%, 30% or event 50% battery left but still it flickering and switch off? Clean battery stat...problem still there... mmmm... read my story below :)

My Galaxy Note battery out of shape due to over charge or over heating. Most of the time I'm leaving it overnight to charge. That the main reason why my battery have bump and out of shape (like a pregnant lady). When I close the battery back door I could feel it's not tight as new.

So, I just buy a new original one. Same replacement for RM109 at GIANT supermarket sell by Nokia small shops inside Giant. 3 month warranty.

You could see the middle part bump a bit. You could easily spin the battery :)

Symptom on your phone will be flickering and phone suddenly switch off even though it shows 30 or 40% battery left. Clean battery stat will not help....

GET A NEW BATTERY!  and make sure it's original.... :)

How to calibrate Galaxy note S Pen

Do you have problem with your Galaxy Note S-Pen? The point and the line draw too far away...you may try this auto calibration...it works for me on N7000XXKL8. It should work for you as well...

The idea is, to touch all edges of the screen. You may move you pen on the screen side from one end to another or just by clicking on every edges. The S Pen need to detect the maximum for up or down and left or right movement before it can actually calibrate itself.

Press your S Pen near the edges more often and calibration adjusts accordingly.

What I did is, I execute Phone and Application using S Pen :)

Continue testing here
Dial *#0*# using phone dialer.
Latest testing 7 Jan 2012. I can't really draw until the end of the bottom edges either LEFT or RIGHT.
I have no problem to draw on the TOP part.

Photoeditor. Able to draw all the edges, but there are a few millimeter blind area at the bottom. Outside of the image.
S Memo do have blind area at the bottom. We can't stretch the image to 100% full screen.

Other Tips
1. Upgrade to latest ROM.
2. Just Disable Auto Rotation. S Pen good for Portrait.
3. Some experience by disable and enable auto rotation, S Pen fix.
4. Try select Setting > Pen Settings > Dominant hand > Right handed/Left Handed. Reported that S Pen will re-calibrate again.

5. Calibrate Horizontal and Gyroscope. Check out Setting > Display

How about you?

Kies via Wi-Fi lets you enjoy Kies in a remarkably convenient way.
    * It is available for the supported models only, and some functions are limited while Wi-Fi connection.

Note:
-To run ODIN and execute it successfully, you need to KILL all KIES process inside Task Manager.
KIES and ODIN cannot run at the same time.
-Latest firmware update base on region. Malaysia sometime a bit late in software update. Be patient.
-For technical guy you may continue update base on the leaked ROM.

Remember to restart after KIES installation. This to make sure all the drivers installed and configured properly.

Samsung firmware version information

Before flashing you should know some basic version information of your current ROM and to which ROM you are going to. Is it new update or just moving from country to another country?

The easiest way to get your phone information.

Firmware version: *#1234#
S/W version: *#1111#
H/W version: *#2222#

Now that you have typed the firmware version code and that you are on the screen, you will get 3 different pieces of information. As an example, my phone shows (I had flash Hong Kong version):

PDA: N7000ZSKK1
PHONE: N7000XXKJ6
CSC: N7000OZSKK1

Build Info: Thu Nov 3 16:31:33 KST 2011

Definition
PDA is the operating system with its programs and settings included.
PHONE is the modem firmware file, parts of which are required to access the hardware.
CSC (for consumer software customisation) are the regional settings applied which may install additional programs as well as provider-specific settings (APN).

PDA AND PHONE CODE MEANING
What does N7000XXKK1 means?
N7000(=model) XX(=Region) K(=Year) K(=Month) A(=Revision)
N7000= Galaxy Note

That not difficult to understand your phone version. The code quite simple but flashing between region quite confusing. My advice is just look at the Android version.. like moving from Android 2.3.5 to Android 2.3.6. There should be enhancement or bug fixes in the new Android version.
