I9000: Semaphore get updated again JVT 1.9.0

- restore DVFS locks introduced on newmail's patch
- fixed clean busybox script

- Semaphore Script Manager updated to v0.62
- updated reworked scripts by HM.Carbide
- 341MB available RAM
- dropped CWM, Superuser applications (you have to manually delete them)
- ondemand patched with newmail's (thanks) deepsleep detection (also works with OC, latency 20000, thanks darckengel for extensively testing this)
- booloop detection (if phone reboots before 2 minutes of operation, init.d backed up and clear, thanks HM.Carbide for his idea)
- usb dock support (thanks xcaliburinhand)
- back to gzip initramfs compression (little bit faster boot)

Installing this means your I9000 will be rooted. Superuser installed.

I9000XXJVT+Semaphore+Battery %

I would like to show you the best performance and most stable ever been on Android Galaxy S.

What should I do?

1. What you need to do is flash your Galaxy S with stock I9000XXJVT
2. Flash latest semaphore . At the end of this process you will have ROOTED ROM, Recovery Mode and performance enhancement.

Optional
3. Install ODEX theme for your rooted I9000XXJVT via Recovery (Volume UP+Home+Power).

Downloads ODEX:
- Klick: JVT-ODEX-BatMod-ExtPowMen.zip | with original Glass Lock from Samsung
- Klick: JVT-ODEX-BatMod-ExtPowMen-AOSPLock.zip | with AOSP Lockscreen
- Klick: JVT-ODEX-BatMod-ExtPowMen-ClearGlassLock.zip | With Clear Glass Lock

Download ZIP file above and copy to your SD Card and install via recovery mode.
Note: CWM Manager available inside semaphore.

How to root Android 2.3.5 I9000XXJVT

How to root Android 2.3.5 I9000XXJVT?


1. Download ODIN Since you are coming from stock.SGS Kernel Flasher cannot be used.
2. Download semaphore JVT 1.8.1bm [Get latest Semaphore here]
3. Run ODIN
4. Click on [PDA] and select Semaphore downloaded earlier (step 2)
Note: Do not check re-partition. Set your phone to Download Mode (Home+Volume Down+Power button). Connect to USB cable.

5. Click [Start]. Sit back and relax.
 You will see this screen when you are DONE. Green PASS

CWM+Semaphore(Script Manager)+Superuser+Tweaks will be installed.
No more Samsung sound on boot-up....

Note: Now you can use shootme, since you have root permission
Check out your phone about for confirmation :)

Note: You will have same stability as JVS

But still no battery percentage...........I show you how after the break.

How to install 2.3.5 I9000XXJVT

I will show you how to install I9000XXJVT

1. Download I9000XXJVT and extract the ZIP file
2. Download ODIN
3. Get your phone in download mode (Power+Volume Down+Home button)

4. Run ODIN
5. Put in all the extracted files as shown in the image (click on the image to enlarge).
  • PIT=s1_odin_20100512.pit
  • PDA=CODE_I9000XXJVT_CL617736_REV03_user_low_ship.tar.md5
  • PHONE=MODEM_I9000XXJVT_REV_00_CL1064602.tar.md5
  • CSC=GT-I9000-CSC-MULTI-OXAJVT.tar.md5
Note: Checked re-partition. All your apps will be deleted. Your data files still on the SD Card.
6. Connect your phone to USB cable. Click START button. Sit back and relax :)
DONE.
This is what you should have.
I'm going to continue testing and will post the screens after the break....

Note: Good practise. Factory reset once done. This will make your phone as new coming out from factory :) Useful for ROOTING process later.

JVS Stock + Semaphore 1.7.5bm battery

This is Semaphore 1.7.5 Big Memory battery usage

20 hours battery usage. 47% left

Most of the time use for Short phone call, Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Email and Internet. Running on WiFi. Even though my 3G is on.

Use 3G while on the move only. Reading Email, News, Twitter and FB while waiting for the traffic light :)

JVS Stock + Semaphore 1.7.5 battery

So far the best battery usage and the most stable.
Check out image below.
Most of the time use my phone for reading twitter, facebook and internet. Have a few short phone call.
11 hours usage with 40% left. I'm more than happy. My requirement at least 8hours without charge.
Update battery status.


11 hours. 40% battery

18 hours. 22% battery

How to install Semaphore JVS 1.7.5

What's new in Semaphore JVS 1.7.5?

- bundled HM.Carbide's Semaphore Script Manager v0.31 application (thanks to HM.Carbide)
- slightly increased voltage at 1.2GHz (1325mV) for better stability on some phones.
- deleting boot sounds procedure creates backup on /data/local


We have Overclocking features available. Reboot not required.

You can check your Over Clock using Quadrant System Information

How to install Semaphore JVS 1.7.5?

1. Download semaphore JVS 1.7.5 and copy into your SD Card

2. Download SGS Kernel Flasher
3. Run SGS Kernel Flasher and flash new semaphore

4. DONE

At the end you should have this.

Note: This is with the assumption that you had installed Semaphore 1.7.0 or you had root your JVS

How to enable Tethering on JVS Stock + Semaphore JVS 1.7.0

Tethering is an optional features inside Semaphore JVS 1.7.0. It's not a problem.

How to enable Tethering?

Not that difficult if you have the right tool.

1. Download Es File Explorer, Install and Run it.
2. Mount File System. you need the folder to be writable
3. Copy enable_netfilter from  /res/scripts folder

4. Paste it into /system/etc/init.d
5.  Make the file Executable by changing its properties



6.You might need to disable back File System folder (security reason). Check step 2
7. Reboot.

DONE. Now you are tethering enable ..Good Luck!






Other scripts available (Use the same steps):
- enable_conservative (load conservative governor module)
- enable_cifs (load cifs module)
- enable_netfilter (load netfilter modules for firewall or WiFi, USB tethering)
- enable_tun (load tun module)
- enable_deadline (load the deadline I/O scheduler module)
- enable_binfmt_misc
- S05_enable_oc replaces enable_ocuv since 1.6.0 (enable overclocking)
- enable_sm_cold script for SpeedMod cold preset
- enable_sm_warm script for SpeedMod warm preset
- enable_sm_neutral script for SpeedMod neutral preset (please note that this is enabled by default)

Note: Do not ask me what's the other scripts all about. I'm not using it :)

How to Install JVS stock (2.3.5) and Semaphore 1.7.0bm

After 2 weeks of using DarkyROM v10.2.2 stable version, but what I had facing is not really stable.

What happened to me:
  • Force close on Samsung app
  • Camera freeze
  • Lock screen freeze
  • Slow response. You have to touch a few time to execute button
  • Phone hang (received phone call while reading email)
I had decided to to try JVS (2.3.5) stock version and Semaphore 1.7.0bm (big memory). Previously I'm using JVS Stock and DarkCore 4.0 with no problem. I think JVS stock should be stable as well..good bye nice theme..I'm going for performance and stability..What I need is just battery percentage...

How to install Semaphore 1.7.0bm?
1. Download Semaphore for JVS
2. Run ODIN
3. Select Semaphore file as PDA
4. Click Start. sit back and relax :)

Note: 
  • You must be in Download mode to do this. Run ODIN before connected USB to SGS phone.
  • Kill ALL KIES process from task manager


This is what you will get.
 ROOTED with Superuser installed:)

Lagfix not enabled..can't see the ext4 entry inside Voodoo app.

How to root I9000XXJVS - Semaphore

If you are Semaphore fan. You may root your XXJVS Android 2.3.5 using this as well

Semaphore JVS 1.7.0. CF-Root + Voodoo Sound v10 + OC/UV + BLN
  • Supercurio's Voodoo Sound v10 and Voodoo Color
  • Existz OC/UV
  • Neldar's BLN
  • Speedmod color fix

How to do that?

  1. Download Semaphore 1.7.0 here
  2. Download ODIN. Click here
  3. Run ODIN and flash Semaphore "Semaphore_kernel_JVS_1.7.0.tar"
  4. PDA = Semaphore_kernel_JVS_1.7.0.tar
  5. Re-partition = un-check 
  6. DONE
Note: It just like rooted using DarkCore process. Look here...

If you already rooted using DarkCore as posted earlier you may use SGS Kernel Flasher to flash Semaphore.

How to change DarkCore kernel to Semaphore kernel

I9000 JVQ to JVR. DarkCore to Semaphore

Make sure you have completed to JVR. Check previous post how to go to JVR from JVQ. All in JVR

Download latest semaphore and flash it using SGS Kernel Flasher (available in the market)
DONE!. Now you have DarkyROM with Semaphore Kernel....
Quadrant: not much different..but you will have smooth browser :)

Note:

JVR_1.5.0
- Patched with the latest Samsung kernel sources.
- Auto brightness is working now.
- Voodoo color (in JVR_1.5.0v)

Base: DarkyROM v10.2 RE (2.3.4 JVQ)

Tool required: SGS Kernel Flasher

 BEFORE. DarkCore 2.9.2
AFTER. Semaphore 1.4.2
Semaphore quadrant...not much different

Now semaphore JVR 1.5.0v (version with voodoo color)

Quadrant become lower...mmm


I have no problem flashing it.... :) Simple activity while waiting for release version from DarkyROM or GingerReal..
