Using this method, could you tell me how to install CWM afterwards? Thanks.

  6. ROM Manager should be able to install CWM.

Havent tested on my GT-N7000. For now it's save not to flash custom rom, since asia update faster than europe...but the developer most of them from europe..

This is awesome! thanks for posting.

For anyone who might not want to fire up windows. I have ported the .bat scripts found in the zips to shell scripts. These would just replace runme.bat for folks on Mac / linux with adb already setup.

Tested on OSX10.6. Just need to make sure adb $PATH is in your path (and you need adb installed)

Hi, good tutorial you have there.
After rooted the phone with this tutorial, will the phone be more smooth and battery last longer?

  20. Root will not save your battery..it just give you full right to the system file. you may install/change/configure the system file.

install latest stock rom for better performance and battery saving..

    1. path not found? running script?

You need to run command prompt (cmd) and change directory to where your script is. From there type the batch (.bat) file.

I rooted my new Note with Odin on GingerBrd... I now have a warranty issue (inside 30 days) or at least thought I did now I want t o unroot so I don't have any warranty issues. Is DoomLoRD still the unroot tool for these types of rooted phones? (rooted Note sgh-1717 Samsung using Odin root).

    1. To be safe just flash stock ROM that have re-partition option. Back to factory reset. That the cleanest way.

Yes, there are a few script that you could find to un-root, but for me it's not clean.

Your choice.. If you dont have many apps, just flash stock.

I am new to rooting (old iphone jailbreaker) that is exactly what I want is to put it back to stock just the way it came. How is that done?

I rooted it and added a few apps but I didn't use anything other than odin and a backup program didn't use a special rom. I just want to undo superuser access and any of that stuff that rooting might have done that would void my warranty before I send it back.

Failed to root. I tried all the method in the internet but still failed to root.

    My note using LA1 kernel.

You can't root LA1 and above directly. Get pre-rooted ROM/Firmware. Check out latest post related to pre-root rom.
